GW Colonials for Life

I cannot say enough good things about Scott and the work he does; I admire him so much.  He is truly a stand-out among those who have answered the cry of the suffering unborn.  He has a great understanding of abortion, and while this is true of many in the pro-life movement, Scott is novel in that he has a great hold of its place in the big picture (societal effects, etc.).

The first time I heard Scott speak was at the University of Maryland this past fall.  My attendance was very last minute...I nearly didn't make it because I was in the middle of midterms and very preoccupied.  Fortunately, I decided to accept my invitation and get up early that Saturday morning and go.  That is how Scott, his words and inspiration became a crucial part of the pro-life movement at The George Washington University.  Incredibly enough, GW did not have a pro-life group at that point and I just decided a couple weeks before that I needed to take the initiative to start one to answer the question "What am I going to do for this cause?"

I was so inspired and impressed with Scott's presentation that I raved for months to my fellow GW pro-lifers.  A number of them had the chance to hear him at the ACL Conference in January and not one was disappointed.  Just as was the case with me, Scott's presentation ministered to each of them individually and helped them with a specific question/issue they were struggling with.  He changed two of our members' minds about the visual images.

I put what I learned from Scott to work.  In February, I scheduled a Saturday morning event and showed the video, "Making Abortion Unthinkable," to approximately 15 students.  It was so unbelievable watching 19 and 20 year old college students watching so intensely, just soaking up the arguments, wanting so much to become more effective/articulate spokespersons for the unborn.  The boys in the room were especially impressed; a number of them have told me that they used to avoid the subject of abortion unless in a room of like-minded peers.  Now, they welcome the debate and their confidence in their ability to argue the case persuasively has soared.

For myself, members of GW Colonials for Life and many of our members, Scott and his art of pro-life persuasion has served as an educational tool, inspirational message and source of motivation all at the same time.  We are truly grateful.
