Monte Vista Christian School

2 School Way, Watsonville, CA

May 22, 2003

Dear Steve,

Thank you for arranging Scott Klusendorf to speak at Monte Vista Christian School.

Scott's presentation was to 830 high school kids and staff and he held their attention for one hour and 40 minutes.  WHAT A TALK!

As you know, we are a Christian school with a high number of non-Christian students.  We pride ourselves on being an "evangelistic" Christian school and do our best to reach kids who don't know Jesus.  Scott struck a cord with these non-Christian kids who were pleased that he gave rational evidence for the pro-life view instead of just citing Bible verses.

For Christian students, he presented the truth of a biblical world-view on this key moral issue and gave them the tools needed to defend that view on hostile turf, like the secular college campus.  In short, though his theme was abortion, he did far more than discuss the topic as a single issue.  Rather, he trained our kids to think in ways that will sustain their Christian beliefs once they leave our campus.

His talk apparently was successful in that I have not heard ONE complaint from any pro-choice families.  Nor am I aware of any kids that were adversely affected by the short abortion video clip.

Usually, even if we have a speaker giving the salvation message with a Christian comedian flavor we get some complaints.  We usually get complaints regarding even the sound system and with Scott, we didn't even get that!  This is a miracle.  My prayer is that what he said hit home and that our kids got the message that it's ok to defend what you know to be true, even in the area of abortion.  I know that Scott provided us the opportunity to learn just that.

        Thank you again, Steve.

In Christ,

Joe Skaff, Principal
